Today, we announced our merger with Voice to the Nations as we come under the covering of this great church.  Vertical Outreach will now be the college outreach ministry of Voice to the Nations and will fall under the leadership of Bishop Andrew DeLee.

Griffin, Georgia: Voice to the Nations Worship Center at 1335 W. Taylor St, Griffin, GA and Vertical Community at 5 Market St. Barnesville, GA announced on October 3, 2010 that Vertical Community will become a part of Voice to the Nations. Through this merger Vertical Community will be able to increase its influence on the college community around the Gordon campus. Voice To The Nations will be backing the Vertical Community as a local missions project, through providing resources and support to reach this often neglected demographic of young adults.
This partnership of ministries comes on the heels of Church on Fire in Griffin merging with Voice to the Nations, in December of 2009. When asked about Vertical Community coming under the banner of Voice to the Nations, church leader Bishop Andrew DeLee commented, “This partnership will allow us to further the mission of the Kingdom of God in the Barnesville area and to impact the lives of college students of Gordon. We are excited to be able to offer and provide this community outreach ministry to the current and future students of Gordon College. Our heartbeat is to provide support and direction for the next generation to become all that God has destined them to become.”
Leadership

Pastors Shane and Nikki Harris who are the founding pastors of Vertical Community will serve as the Missions Pastors of the new Vertical Community Outreach. Shane and Nikki have been reaching out to the community in Barnesville since 2007. Shane and Nikki Harris will become an extension of the leadership and vision of Bishop Andrew DeLee to the college students in and around Barnesville.

Since its conception in 2007, Shane and Nikki Harris have worked towards building authentic relationships for those who enter the doors of Vertical. “We believe in doing life together” says Pastor Shane Harris of Vertical. “We are the people you see every day; the rocker, the jock, the nurse, the ex‐addict, the single mom, the college student, etc. The list goes on and on but in reality, we are just different people woven together by one common thread into this colorful and amazing tapestry of what we call life, so why not do it together?”
Vertical currently meets Tuesday nights at 7:00 pm at The Loft, located at 5 Market Street in downtown Barnesville. The doors are open to all college students and young adults ages 18‐25.
